The hand-made catalogues for the LUCEO exhibition, YOU ARE HERE are in a small edition of 100. Each book includes: the Curator’s Essay, 10 hand-printed images on Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190, and one 13″ x 19″ poster, disassembled and cased in a translucent orange wrap. The poster reflects the spirit of how the exhibition requires audience participation in its assemblage.

LUCEO Releases Few & Far Between West Travelogue

As a part of their two-year project looking at life in rural America, five members of LUCEO recently spent 10 days on the road together traversing parts of the American West. During this trip each member collected artifacts and documented their experiences with various instant cameras. The original photographs and artifacts have been gathered and assembled by member Daryl Peveto into this one-of-a-kind book.

One part travel scrapbook, one part personal documentation, one part fine art assemblage, the Few & Far Between West Travelogue encompasses a very personal look at the photographers experiences, their sense of humor as well as the amazing people and places they encountered along the way.

The book is built upon a 1930’s edition of Charles Russell’s Good Medicine that was found in a used bookstore in Douglas, Wyoming during the trip. It rests in a handmade cherry wood box, lined with buffalo fur and finished with walnut accents. The box was custom designed and crafted by hand by fine woodworker Deric Peveto, brother of LUCEO member Daryl Peveto.

Some of the artifacts included in the original and shown here include: a Little Chief Home Sausage Kit; documents for identifying coyotes & wolves, free drink tokens from various bars they encountered, pressed wild flowers, shooting targets, a terrorist hunting permit, their bowling scores at Roper’s Lanes in Whitehall, Montana, as well as a studio portrait of the group made at a Walmart in Riverton, Wyoming which come in a variety of sizes: 8×10, 5×7, 2×3, and wallet size.

The Few & Far Between West Travelogue is the closest you will come to experiencing life on the RV short of being there in person.
